Please.  Please.  Please.  Stop talking about politics on Facebook.  Is anyone else as tired of this as I am?  And NO, there's nothing you can post on a social media site that will suddenly change my core values and principles that I use to guide my life.  There is nothing you can post that will suddenly change what I feel is the "right direction" for our country.  So stop!  Please stop!!

Does it show that I'm fed up with the politics on Facebook?  Hahaha.  I didn't think so.

I want to remain friends with my friends, but I'm also tired of a select few that relentlessly post political e-cards, stories, etc.  So I figured out the best way to keep in touch with them while also keeping that garbage off my news feed.  I thought I'd share that with you.

It's called "Unsubscribe."  No.  You don't have to un-friend someone just because of their political rants.  You just need to unsubscribe from their feed, then re-subscribe after the election.  It's that easy!  You'll still be able to post on their wall, send them messages and interact with them like normal.  You just won't see anything that they post once you unsubscribe.  Here's how it's done:

Step 1:  Go to your political friend's timeline (in other words, find one of their posts and click on their name).  Once you are on their timeline, you will see the following options right below their cover photo.  Click on the little down arrow to the right of the word "Message."

Step 2:  The following menu will pop up when you click on the down arrow.   Select "Report/Block."

Step 3:  When you click on "Report/Block," it will pop up the following window where you select the first option to "Unsubscribe."

Click on confirm and you will be unsubscribed from this person's feed.  YES, you will still be able to send them messages.  You will also be able to post on their wall.  You will just be relieved from their political rants throughout the political season.

Once the election is over, you can go into your friend list and see what friends you are unsubscribed from and re-subscribe to their news feed.  In the meantime, it'll save you the frustration and annoyance.

I hope this helps!  Enjoy!  And in the meantime, vote Romney/Ryan!  Or vote Obama/Biden! Personally, I don't care who you vote for...because you're entitled to your own opinion.
